Stan Lee[1] (lahir Stanley Martin Lieber /ˈliːbər/; 28 Desember 1922 – 12 November 2018) adalah seorang penulis, editor, penerbit, produser, dan aktor dari Amerika.[2] Pada tahun 1960, Stan Lee mendirikan Marvel Comics yang memperkenalkan penokohan lebih lengkap dalam karakter seorang pahlawan yang kuat, sehingga menarik minat orang banyak, khususnya anak-anak.[3] Bekerja sama dengan beberapa seniman, termasuk Jack Kirby dan Steve Ditko, dia menciptakan Spider-Man, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, X-Men, dan banyak karakter fiksi lainnya, mengenalkannya secara menyeluruh. Lee dan Jack Kirby tampil sebagai diri mereka sendiri dalam The Fantastic Four #10 (Januari 1963), yang pertama dari beberapa penampilan dalam Marvel Universe.[21] Keduanya digambarkan mirip dengan rekan-rekan mereka di dunia nyata, membuat buku komik berdasarkan petualangan "nyata" dari Fantastic Four.

Kirby kemudian menggambarkan dirinya sendiri, Lee, eksekutif produksi Sol Brodsky, dan sekretaris Lee Flo Steinberg sebagai pahlawan super di What If #11 (Oktober 1978), "What If the Marvel Bullpen Had Become the Fantastic Four?", Di mana Lee memainkan peran sebagai Mister Fantastic.

Lee meninggal dunia pada umur 95 tahun di Pusat Kesehatan Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, California, Amerika Serikat pada 12 November 2018.[44][45] Awal tahun 2018, Lee mengungkapkan kepada publik bahwa dia telah berjuang melawan pneumonia, dan pada bulan Februari dilarikan ke rumah sakit karena kondisi yang memburuk di waktu yang sama.[46]
