Dalam fisika elektromagnetisme, sebuah medan elektromagnetik adalah sebuah medan terdiri dari dua medan vektor yang berhubungan: medan listrik dan medan magnet. Ketika dibilang medan elektromagnetik, medan tersebut dibayangkan mencakup seluruh ruang; biasanya medan elektromagnetik hanya terbatas di sebuah daerah kecil di sekitar objek dalam ruang.
Vektor (E dan B) yang merupakan karakter medan masing-masing memiliki sebuah nilai yang didefinisikan pada setiap titik ruang dan waktu. Bila hanya medan listrik (E) bukan nol, dan konstan dalam waktu, medan ini dikatak sebuah medan elektrostatik. E dan B (medan magnet) dihubungkan dengan persamaan Maxwell.
Medan elektromagnetik dapat dijelaskan dengan sebuah dasar kuantum oleh elektrodinamika kuantum.
