Mabel Ballin (née Croft; 1 Januari 1885 – 24 Juli 1958),[2][3][4][5] adalah seorang aktris film Amerika dari era film bisu. Mabel Croft lahir di Philadelphia, Pennsylvania pada tanggal 1 Januari 1885. Beberapa sumber menyebutkan tahun 1887 sebagai tanggal lahirnya.[6] Kedua orang tua Croft meninggal ketika dia berusia 2 tahun, yang mengakibatkan dia dibesarkan oleh kakeknya dan nenek pekerja sosial.
Pengalaman panggung pertama Mabel Croft adalah di aula Salvation Army, di mana dia memainkan rebana untuk membawa sumbangan. Dibesarkan dalam kemiskinan, Croft bekerja sebagai penjahit ketika seorang pelanggan membayar uang sekolahnya ke sekolah seni industri. Croft tidak pernah lulus, malah pindah ke New York untuk mengejar karir di dunia akting.[7] Dia menikah dengan pelukis dan sutradara Hugo Ballin pada tahun 1909 dan bersama-sama mereka mendirikan Perusahaan Independen Ballin.[8] Ballin muncul di 28 film antara 1917 dan 1925. Dia mencapai popularitas selama Perang Dunia I.
Ia dikenal melalui perannya pada Riders of the Purple Sage (1925). Film terkenal lainnya yang dia perankan termasuk The Glorious Adventure (1918), Jane Eyre (1921), dan Vanity Fair (1923), di mana dia memerankan Becky Sharp.
