NHL Entry Draft

NHL Entry Draft adalah mekanisme dalam National Hockey League untuk tim-tim menyeleksi pemain-pemain baru.

Sejarah

NHL Amateur Draft pertama diadakan pada tanggal 5 Juni 1963 di Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal, Quebec. Semua pemain amatir yang berusia setidaknya 17 tahun dan belum disponsori oleh sebuah klub NHL berhak untuk direkrut.

Pada 1969 aturannya diubah sehingga semua pemain amatir di bawah usia 20 dapat ikut saringan. 84 pemain (lebih dari 4 kali rata-rata di keenam draft pertama) diseleksi pada tahun itu.
