Delta IV adalah roket peluncuran sekali pakai yang masih aktif di keluarga roket Delta . Delta IV menggunakan roket yang dirancang oleh Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems division dan dibangun di fasilitas United Launch Alliance (ULA) di Decatur, Alabama . Perakitan akhir selesai di tempat peluncuran oleh ULA. Roket-roket yang dirancang untuk meluncurkan muatan ke orbit untuk program Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat Evolved Launch Vehicle Expendable (EELV) dan bisnis satelit komersial. Roket Delta IV tersedia dalam lima versi: Medium, Medium+ (4,2), Medium+ (5,2), Medium+ (5,4), dan Heavy, yang disesuaikan dengan ukuran berat muatan yang dibawa. Delta IV dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan militer AS dalam pengadaan peluncuran satelit militernya.
Roket dirakit di fasilitas Integrasi Horizontal di SLC-37B di Cape Canaveral, dan di SLC-6 di Pangkalan Angkatan Udara Vandenberg .
Delta IV awalnya memiliki dua versi utama yang memungkinkan roket ini mampu untuk mencakup berbagai ukuran dan massa muatan, diantaranya : Versi Medium yang sudah pensiun (yang memiliki empat konfigurasi) dan Heavy. Pada 2019, hanya versi Heavy yang tetap aktif. Satelit atau Wahana antariksa yang akan diluncurkan ke orbit dengan bobot berat yang mencakup versi medium akan dipindah ke Atlas V atau Vulcan yang sedang dikembangkan. Delta IV direncanakan akan pensiun pada 2023.[3]
