Tujuan Tesla dalam mengembangkan Cybertruck adalah menyediakan alternatif kendaraan energi berkelanjutan untuk sekitar 6.500 truk bertenaga bahan bakar fosil yang dijual per hari di Amerika Serikat.[11][12][13]
