Robert E. Kahn (lahir 23 Desember 1938), bersama Vinton G. Cerf, menciptakan protokol TCP/IP, yaitu protokol yang digunakan untuk pertukaran data pada jaringan Internet.
Karier awal
[sunting | sunting sumber]Kahn menyelesaikan studi diploma di City College of New York pada tahun 1960, dan kemudian menyelesaikan program master dan Ph.D. dari Princeton University pada tahun 1962 dan 1964. Kemudian ia bekerja di Bell Laboratories, dan juga bekerja sebagai Assistant Professor di bidang teknik elektro di MIT. Kemudian ia sempat bekerja di Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN), dan di sana dia bertanggungjawab atas perancangan jaringan ARPANET, yang merupakan jaringan berbasis paket yang pertama.
