The Alienist adalah seri televisi drama sejarah Amerika Serikat yang diangkat dari novel berjudul sama karya Caleb Carr. Seri terbatas sepuluh episode ini[1][2] tayang perdana dalam bentuk cuplikan di TNT pada 21 Januari 2018, lalu dirilis secara resmi tanggal 22 Januari sampai 26 Maret 2018.[3] Seri ini dibintangi Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, dan Dakota Fanning yang memerankan tim ad hoc di New York City pada pertengahan 1890-an untuk menyelidiki pembunuhan anak-anak berantai. Seri ini mencampurkan fakta dan fiksi dengan memasukkan tokoh-tokoh nyata seperti Theodore Roosevelt, komisaris polisi tahun 1895 sampai 1897.[4] Pada tanggal 16 Agustus 2018, TNT menyetujui produksi sekuelnya yang diangkat dari novel The Angel of Darkness.[5]
