Keith Maurice Ellison (lahir 4 Agustus 1963) adalah seorang pengacara dan politikus Amerika Serikat. Ellison menjadi Muslim pertama dan satu-satunya[1][2] yang terpilih menjadi anggota kongres AS, di mana Ia menang dalam sidang kongres Minnesota ke lima (yang mencakup seluruh Minneapolis) pada tahun 2006. Keluarga Ellison telah menetap di AS sejak tahun 1742.[8] Keith Maurice Ellison adalah anak ke tiga dari lima bersaudara, dilahirkan sebagai penganut Katolik Roma[9] di Detroit, Michigan, dari pasangan Leonard dan Clida Ellison, seorang psikiater dan pekerja sosial.[2][10] Ellison dan ketiga saudaranya menjadi seorang pengacara, sedangkan yang satunya adalah seorang dokter. Salah satu saudara laki-lakinya adalah seorang pastur di Detroit.[10] Ia lulus dari University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy pada 1981 di mana Ia tadinya aktif dalam olahraga dan senat siswa.[10][11] Pada usia 19 tahun, selagi kuliah di Wayne State University di Detroit, Ellison pindah agama menjadi Islam Sunni.[12][13][14] Setelah lulus pada tahun 1987, Ia kemudian menikah dengan kekasihnya ketika di SMU[9] dan pindah ke Minneapolis untuk melanjutkan studi di University of Minnesota Law School. Pada November 2002, Ellison terpilih menjadi anggota DPR Minnesota House District 58B Diarsipkan 2007-08-09 di Wayback Machine.. Ketika ia meraih kedudukannya, partainya adalah partai minoritas terkecil dalam sejarah Minnesota.[19]

Ellison memperoleh 84% suara dan terpilih kembali untuk wilayah Minnesota dalam pemilihan 2004. Ia terpilih untuk masa jabatan 1 Juli 2005 hingga 1 Februari 2007. Kedudukan Ellison di Kongres sebelumnya dipegang oleh Martin Olav Sabo, yang merupakan salah satu dari delapan anggotan Kongres dari Minnesota.[20]
