Boyband ini adalah hasil audisi besar-besaran di tahun [[2009]] oleh [[Jayne Collins]], orang yang sudah menyukseskan [[The Saturdays]]. Dari pengalaman tersebut, terkumpul Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, dan Tom Parker. Usia mereka antara 18 hingga 22 tahun. Masing-masing sudah mempunyai latar belakang tentang seni musik. Tidak hanya dalam vokal, tapi juga dalam nari/dance, modelling, dan akting. Tak heran, banyak penikmat musik yang menyukai karya mereka hingga menjadikan debut single [[All Time Low]] menjadi lagu nomor 1 di [[UK]]. Kemiripan lagu tersebut dengan hit milik [[Coldplay]] membuat lagu mereka tidak lama untuk menikmatinya. Ketika single keduanya [[Heart Vacancy]] dirilis, penggemar The Wante makin banyak dari berbagai negara.

The Wanted adalah boy band pop asal Britania Raya-Irlandia yang berkedudukan di London. Grup ini terdiri dari Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker dan Nathan Sykes. Debut singlenya adalah "All Time Low" yang mencapai nomor satu di Britania Raya pada Agustus 2010. Album studio pertamanya adalah The Wanted yang dirilis pada 25 Oktober 2010 dan mencapai nomor 4 di tangga lagu Britania Raya.

Biografi

Boyband ini adalah hasil audisi besar-besaran pada tahun 2009 oleh Jayne Collins, orang yang sudah menyukseskan The Saturdays. Dari pengalaman tersebut, terkumpul Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, dan Tom Parker. Usia mereka antara 18 hingga 22 tahun. Masing-masing sudah mempunyai latar belakang tentang seni musik. Tidak hanya dalam vokal, tetapi juga dalam nari/dance, modelling, dan akting. Tak heran, banyak penikmat musik yang menyukai karya mereka hingga menjadikan debut single All Time Low menjadi lagu nomor 1 di UK. Kemiripan lagu tersebut dengan hit milik Coldplay membuat lagu mereka tidak lama untuk menikmatinya. Ketika single keduanya Heart Vacancy dirilis, penggemar The Wanted makin banyak dari berbagai negara.

Ada cerita di balik single ini, dimana sang pencipta lagu mengarangnya untuk dinyanyikan oleh Leona Lewis. Tapi sang juara X Factor itu menolak, menyebabkannya berpindah tangan ke 4 orang artis lain hingga akhirnya The Wanted dan dijadikan sebagai single kedua mereka. Geffen Records merilis album perdana mereka yang berjudul The Wanted dengan menyanyikan lagu-lagu dari para penulis handal dan produser terkenal. Seperti Steve Mac, Wayne Hector, Guy Chambers, Jonas Jeberg, dan masih banyak lagi. Juga termasuk Rami Yacoub, yang ada di belakang layar untuk single Lose My Mind. Single ketiga mereka ini sama suksesnya dengan 2 single sebelumnya. Lagu ini mempunyai vibe yang mirip hit dari Kings Of Leon, “Use Somebody”. Kegilaan di video klipnya dan sound rock yang digabungkan di dalam musiknya. Tepat sekali menyematkan nama boyband masa kini kepada The Wanted. Apalagi dalam usia bermusik mereka yang masih muda, 4Music Awards dan Celebritain Awards sudah mereka raih, berikut unggulan di ajang Brit Awards dan Virgin Media Music Awards, kategori “New Artist Highlight Mei 2011”.
