Akropolis merupakan sebuah tempat peninggalan sejarah di Yunani. Tempat yang paling terkenal seperti Akropolis Athena, dengan alasan dari beberapa yang terkenal dalam sejarah bangunan yang didirikan di atasnya. Meskipun di daratan yang berasal dari Yunani, penggunaan model akropolis dengan cepat menyebar ke koloni Yunani seperti Dorian Lato di Kreta selama Periode Archaic.
Akropolis juga digunakan untuk tempat pariwisata lainnya di dunia, seperti Tikal dan Copán.
Pada Tahun 1987 Akropolis terdaftar sebagai salah satu Situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO.
