Athens (dulu dikenal sebagai Athens-Clarke County) adalah sebuah consolidated city–county di dalam wilayah negara bagian Georgia, Amerika Serikat, di bagian timur laut negara bagian ini, mencakup bekas kota "Athens proper" (pusat pemerintahan) dan Clarke County. Clarke County School District mendukung pendidikan dari kelas pra sekolah dasar sampai kelas 12. Distrik ini mencakup 14 sekolah dasar, 4 sekolah menengah pertama dan 3 sekolah menengah atas (satu non-tradisional).[9] Distrik ini mencatat 791 guru full-time dan 11.457 murid pada tahun 2010.[10]
