Exynos, sebelumnya Hummingbird (Hangul: 엑시노스), adalah serangkaian sistem pada chip ARM yang dikembangkan oleh divisi System LSI Samsung Electronics dan diproduksi oleh Samsung Foundry. Exynos adalah kelanjutan dari lini SoC S3C, S5L dan S5P Samsung sebelumnya.

Exynos sebagian besar didasarkan pada inti ARM Cortex dengan pengecualian beberapa SoC kelas atas yang menampilkan desain inti seri "M" milik Samsung.[1]

Pada tahun 2010, Samsung meluncurkan Hummingbird S5PC110 (sekarang Exynos 3 Single) di smartphone Samsung Galaxy S-nya, yang menampilkan CPU ARM Cortex-A8 berlisensi.[2] ARM Cortex-A8 ini diberi nama kode Hummingbird. Dikembangkan dalam kemitraan dengan Intrinsity menggunakan teknologi FastCore dan Fast14 mereka.[3]

Pada awal 2011, Samsung pertama kali meluncurkan Exynos 4210 SoC di ponsel smartphone Samsung Galaxy S II. Kode driver untuk Exynos 4210 tersedia di kernel Linux[4] dan dukungan ditambahkan dalam versi 3.2 pada November 2011.[5][6]

Pada tanggal 29 September 2011, Samsung memperkenalkan Exynos 4212[7] sebagai penerus 4210; chip ini memiliki frekuensi clock yang lebih tinggi dan "kinerja grafis 3D 50 persen lebih tinggi dari generasi prosesor sebelumnya".[8] Dibangun dengan proses berdaya rendah gerbang mental high-κ (HKMG) 32 nm; menjanjikan "penggunaan daya 30 persen lebih rendah dari generasi proses sebelumnya".

Pada 3 Juni 2019, AMD dan Samsung mengumumkan kemitraan strategis multi-tahun dalam IP grafis seluler berdasarkan IP GPU AMD Radeon.[9][10] NotebookCheck melaporkan bahwa Samsung menargetkan tahun 2021 untuk SoC pertama mereka dengan IP GPU AMD Radeon.[11] Namun, AnandTech melaporkan 2022.[12] Pada Agustus 2019, selama panggilan pendapatan AMD Q2 2019, AMD menyatakan bahwa Samsung berencana untuk meluncurkan SoC dengan IP grafis AMD dalam waktu sekitar dua tahun.[13]
