Rencana produksi film ini diumumkan pada akhir Agustus 2014.[12] Produser Karan Johar mengungkapkan proyek ini di akun mikroblog Twitter miliknya.[13][14] Koordinator pemeran pengganti khusus Eric Brown dan Justin Yu dari Los Angeles bertugas menjadi penata laga untuk adegan-adegan MMA.[15][16] Pemeran petarung MMA, Kumar, telah mulai mengambil program diet dan mengambil gambar untuk adegannya.
