Saya lihat format artikel dalam Wikipedia bahasa lainnya semua mengambil bentuk Perbudakan daripada budak (maksudnya artikelnya fokus ke aktivitasnya). Bagaimana jika dipindah dan sedikit disesuaikan isinya? Hayabusa future 15:06, 18 Desember 2005 (UTC)

Materi perbudakan di Indonesia

Salam,

Saya ingin mendiskusikan materi yang ditambahkan oleh saudara @Agus Damanik pada artikel Perbudakan.

Artikel wikipedia Perbudakan ini saya terjemahkan dari Wikipedia bahasa Inggris karena memang materinya lumayan komprehensif, didukung dengan referensi yang memadai dan tentunya untuk memperbaiki dan menyempurnakan versi-versi artikel yang sebelumnya.

Saya lihat saudara Agus Damanik menambahkan satu paragraf tentang perbudakan di Indonesia (https://wiki-indonesia.club/w/index.php?title=Perbudakan&diff=prev&oldid=24147505). Bukannya saya tidak setuju terdapat tambahan materi tentang perbudakan di Indonesia (bagian lain artikel perbudakan menunjukkan terdapat orang-orang nusantara dan orang-orang Asia lainnya pernah diperbudak oleh tentara dan bajak laut dari Tiongkok). Bahkan kerja rodi dan romusha pada masa kolonial juga dapat dikategorikan sebagai perbudakan dalam perspektif hukum internasional. Namun, jika hendak menambahkan tentang kerja rodi sebagai perbudakan di Indonesia, misalnya, sebaiknya penambahan materi seperti itu merujuk pada sumber yang kredibel seperti karya ilmiah dsb.

Hal yang saya tidak setuju dengan tambahan dari saudara Agus Damanik di atas adalah
1. Kalimat-kalimat yang ditulis tidak runut dan koheren (misalnya pada kalimat ini: "Salah satu contoh perbudakan di negara ini terlihat saat kunjungan dari tiga misionaris dari Baptist Missionary Society, yaitu Nathan Ward, Evans Meers, dan Richard Burton pada tahun 1824 di wilayah Silindung...") Kalimat ini dapat lebih koheren misalnya dengan menulis: "Salah satu bentuk praktik perbudakan di Indonesia dijelaskan dalam keterangan misionaris dari..."
2. Referensi yang dirujuk (Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, 485-500) tidak memberikan keterangan tentang perbudakan. Barulah setelah saya pelajari lebih lanjut, memang ada rujukan perbudakan di antara orang-orang Batak sendiri, namun hal itu terdapat di halaman 508.
