Otogiro adalah tipe dari rotorcraft didukung saat terbang oleh lift disediakan oleh rotor. Tidak seperti helikopter, rotor otogiro dijalankan oleh aerodinamik ketika terbang.
Otogiro ditemukan oleh Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu tahun 1919, dan melakukan penerbangan sukses pada tanggal 9 Januari 1923 di lapangan terbang Cuatro Vientos Airfield, Madrid, Spanyol.[1]
