Thermoplasma adalah genus arkea. Itu milik Thermoplasmata, yang berkembang dalam lingkungan asam dan suhu tinggi. Thermoplasma adalah anaerob fakultatif dan bernafas menggunakan sulfur dan karbon organik. Mereka tidak mengandung dinding sel melainkan mengandung membran yang unik terutama terdiri dari tetraeter lipoglikan mengandung atipikal lipid tetraeter archaea melekat pada oligosakarida mengandung glukosa dan mannosa. Lipoglikan ini mungkin bertanggung jawab untuk stabilitas asam dan termal dari membran Thermoplasma.
Saat ini genus Thermoplasma berisi dua spesies, T. acidophilum dan T. volcanium.
