Kejuaraan Dunia 125cc

Lahir di Banting, Selangor, Malaysia, Zulfahmi memulai debutnya di kejuaraan dunia 125cc di Grand Prix Malaysia 2009 di mana ia selesai di posisi ke-20. Pada tahun 2010, Zulfahmi berkompetisi di musim pertamanya di Aprilia untuk Sirkuit Internasional Air Asia-Sepang.

Kejuaraan Dunia Moto3

Zulfahmi akhirnya mencapai podium Moto3 pertamanya saat ia finis di posisi kedua pada Grand Prix Portugal 2012,[1] dan mencapai posisi pole pertama oleh pembalap Malaysia di kelas apapun pada balapan rumahnya pada Oktober 2012.[2] Zulfahmi memimpin pada sebagian besar balapan, tetapi finis di urutan kedua di belakang rekan setimnya Sandro Cortese, setelah Cortese melakukan operan putaran terakhir. Pada akhir kampanye MotoGP 2012 di Valencia, ia mengklaim podium kedua dari kariernya; ia naik dari peringkat 17 di grid untuk menyelesaikan posisi ke-3 (di belakang Danny Kent dan Sandro Cortese( dalam balapan yang mendebarkan.

Dia sempat kembali ke balap Grand Prix, tetapi setelah awal yang buruk untuk musim 2018, ia memutuskan untuk pensiun dari balapan.[3]
