Sebuah bom atom jenis implosi dengan inti plutonium diledakkan di sebuah kapal HMS Plym di perairan Kepulauan Monte Bello, Australia Barat. Bom ini berdaya ledak sekitar 25 kiloton TNT (100 terajoule), menghancurkan kapal dan menghasilkan kawah berbentuk mangkuk sedalam 6 m dan selebar 300 meter di dasar laut. Operasi ini merupakan puncak dari Proyek High Explosive Research yang dilakukan pasca Perang Dunia II dengan tujuan membuat bom atom untuk Britania. Dengan uji coba ini, Britania menjadi negara dengan kemampuan nuklir ketiga setelah Amerika Serikat dan Uni Soviet.
