Gelombang kejut adalah salah satu jenis gelombang yang menyebabkan gangguan yang tersebar yang bergerak lebih cepat dari gelombang suara lokal pada suatu medium. Sama dengan gelombang biasa, gelombang ini membawa energi dan dapat menyebar melalui suatu medium (zat padat, cair, gas, atau plasma) yang dicirikan terdapat perubahan tekanan, termperatur, dan densitas medium secara tiba-tiba atau dalam beberapa kasus yang tidak ada materi mediumnya dapat pula melalui medan tertentu serupa medan elektromagnetik.[1]
