Johnson menikah dengan Dany Garcia pada tanggal 3 Mei 1997.[12] Putri mereka Simone lahir pada 14 Agustus 2001.[12][13] Pada tanggal 1 Juni 2007, mereka mengumumkan perpisahan secara damai.[12] Johnson kemudian mulai berkencan dengan Lauren Hashian, putri dari Boston drummer Sib Hashian. Mereka pertama kali bertemu pada tahun 2006 saat Johnson sedang syuting The Game Plan.[14] Hashian dan Johnson menikah pada 18 Agustus 2019 di Hawaii.[15][16] Mereka memiliki dua anak.[17]
