"Oh!" adalah lagu dari album studio kedua Girls' Generation, Oh!. Singel ini dirilis secara digital pada tanggal 25 Januari 2010[1] dan datang untuk menjadi lagu hits besar di Korea Selatan. Kelompok ini menggunakan konsep cheerleader untuk kegiatan promosi lagu itu.[2] Lagu ini hits #1 disetiap grafik acara musik Korea, termasuk Music Bank dan The Music Trend.[3] Lagu ini berada di #4 di Gaon Chart Top 10 Digital Songs of the Year dan juga merupakan yang terlaris nomor 2 pada tahun itu[4] and it was also the second best selling single in that year, selling over 3.3 million copies. Music site Monkey3 named "Oh!" the best song in 2010.[5]

Kenzie, seorang penulis lagu yang menulis lagu debut Into the New World, kali ini menulis lagu "Oh!".[8]

"Oh!" dirilis di toko musik digital pada 25 Januari 2010. Lagu dengan cepat memuncak diberbagai chart musik digital dalam 10 menit perilisan.[1] Lagu juga #1 di Gaon Music Chart.[9]

Sebuah teaser video dirilis ke berbagai situs pada tanggal 23 Januari 2010, menyebabkan setidaknya satu dari mereka - Naver - kewalahan oleh lalu lintas pengunjung yang tinggi.[10] Video penuh dirilis pada tanggal 27 Januari 2010,[11] dan diproduseri oleh Che Soo-hyun. Akhirnya, versi tari "Oh!" dirilis oleh SM Entertainment saluran YouTube. Video musik resmi lagu telah mendapatkan popularitas besar di dalam halaman web, dengan lebih dari 48 juta tampilan pada Februari 2012.

Mereka mengenakan nomor tertentu dalam video musik, nomor masing-masing pribadi dipilih oleh anggota. Dalam versi cerita, terlihat bahwa mereka pemandu sorak untuk tim sepak bola Amerika. Pertama kali tampil live pada tanggal 30 Januari 2010 pada MBC Music Core sebagai bagian dari Comeback Stage.[13] Namun, ada kesalahan teknis dalam siaran MBC, dengan beberapa detik udara mati mendekati akhir kinerja, jaringan kemudian dibanjiri keluhan.[14] Insiden ini kemudian diparodikan di YouTube, pencampuran dalam klip dari drama Korea, IRIS menerima perhatian dari netizen Korea..[15]

Kelompok ini ditindaklanjuti dengan penampilan kedua mereka di The Music Trend hari berikutnya.[16]

Pada Comeback Stage pertama di Music Bank, mereka memenangkan "K-Chart!" mengalahkan CN Blue dan 2AM dan pada saat yang sama memecahkan rekor poin dengan 23.007 poin.[17]

Latar Belakang

Pada 10 Agustus 2012, diumumkan bahwa grup akan merilis singel Jepang selanjutnya setelah sukses dengan singel sebelumnya, "Paparazzi", pada pertengahan bulan September 2012. Singel diumumkan tanpa konfirmasi dari judul track, namun penggemar telah melakukan pre-order untuk edisi regular, dan limited editions dari singel.[18] Track B-side singel, "All My Love Is for You" dirilis via video musik pada 4 September 2012 di sluran resmi YouTube SM Entertainment, SMTOWN.[19] Setelah beberapa minggu spekulasi, judul track singel, adalah remake versi Jepang dari hits tahun 2010 Korea mereka, "Oh!" yang akhirnya diumumkan pada 10 September.[6] Video musik untuk "Oh!" dirilis pada 14 September 2012, dengan ringtone eksklusif yang dirilis pada 5AM JST.[7]

Video "Oh!" banyak kesamaan dengan video Korea, bagaimanapun, bukannya video Sekolah Tinggi berorientasi, video dishoot seolah-olah anggota kini telah memasuki College, menyiratkan pertumbuhan mereka sebagai artis dan wanita. Video dimulai dengan kamera panning melalui asrama Universitas mereka, semua anggota terlihat membaca, kecuali Hyoyeon dan Seohyun yang bermain batu-gunting-kertas.
