Zynga adalah pembuat permaianan jejaring sosial yang didirikan oleh Mark Pincus, Michael Luxton, Eric Schiermeyer, Justin Waldron, Andrew Trader, dan Steve Schoettler. Di waktu bersamaan Zynga mengakuisisi YoVille, sebuah permainan virtual terkenal.

ScamVille

Pada akhir Oktober 2009 situs TechCrunch menerbitkan sebuah tulisan yang mengklaim bahwa yang dilakukan Zynga di dalam game FarmVille dan sejenisnya adalah sebuah scam.[1] CEO Zynga, Marc Pincus, ketika berbicara pada acara Startup@Berkeley pada awal tahun 2009 mengakui bahwa mereka melakukan semuanya untuk mendapatkan keuntungan.[2] Sejak tulisan tersebut diterbitkan, Facebook, Zynga, dan pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam skandal "ScamVille" tersebut telah berinisiatif mengeluarkan iklan-iklan scam yang bermasalah dari Facebook dan aplikasi Facebook.
