Penghargaan Filmfare Timur adalah segmen India Timur dari Filmfare Awards tahunan, yang disajikan oleh The Times Group untuk menghormati keunggulan artistik dan sinematik dalam industri film Bengali, industri film Assam, dan industri film Odia. Angsuran pertama penghargaan diadakan untuk film - film Bengali, Assam, dan Odia dalam sebuah upacara pada tanggal 29 Maret 2014. [2] Upacara penghargaan dihentikan untuk tahun 2015 dan 2016, kemudian dilanjutkan dari tahun 2017.

Sejarah

Pada 8 Maret 2014, dalam konferensi pers yang diadakan di Kolkata, grup Media di Seluruh Dunia mengumumkan bahwa Filmfare Award memulai debutnya di India Timur untuk menghormati bakat artistik sinematik terbaik di wilayah ini. Dalam angsuran perdana, penghargaan dalam 29 kategori akan diberikan di auditorium Science City, Kolkata pada 29 Maret 2014. Penghargaan akan mencakup 21 piala untuk film-film Bengali dan masing-masing empat untuk film Odia dan Assam. Empat kategori untuk film Odia dan Assam adalah Film Terbaik, Sutradara Terbaik, Aktor Terbaik, dan Aktris Terbaik. [3] [4] Pemenang akan dipilih dari 102 entri dalam film Bengali, 36 dan 14 entri masing-masing dari film Odia dan Assam. [3] Aktor film Bengali Prosenjit Chatterjee hadir sebagai bintang tamu dalam kesempatan itu. [5] [6] [7] Setelah itu dua konferensi pers lainnya diikuti di Bhubaneswar pada 11 Maret [3] [8] dan Guwahati pada 14 Maret 2014 [9] [4] di hadapan aktor film Odia Anubhav Mohanty dan masing-masing aktor film Assam, Kopil Bora dan Zerifa Wahid. Dari 2017 penghargaan hanya diberikan kepada industri film Bengali.
