Selubung mielin
Struktur Neuron

Pada sel saraf, selubung Mielin adalah lapisan fosfolipid yang membungkus akson secara konsentrik. Sel Schwann merupakan sel yang membentuk selubung pada sistem saraf tepi, sedangkan oligodendrosit merupakan sel yang membentuk selubung yang sama pada sistem saraf pusat. Selubung mielin merupakan ciri khas vertebrata (gnathostome), tetapi selubung yang mirip dengan mielin juga telah berevolusi secara paralel dalam beberapa invertebrata.[1]
