Pomponne merupakan sebuah komune di departemen Seine-et-Marne di region Île-de-France di utara-tengah Prancis.
Demografi
Pada sensus 1999, penduduknya berjumlah 3.256 jiwa.
Penduduknya disebut sebagai Pomponnais.
Sejarah
23 Desember 1933, kecelakaan kereta terburuk kedua di Prancis terjadi di Pomponne dengan tabrakan ujung belakang ekspres Paris-Nancy dan kereta cepat Paris-Strasbourg. 230 tewas dan 300 terluka di kereta ekspres Nancy ketika 7 gerbong kayunya hancur. Masinis kereta Strasbourgtelah memberikan sinyal bahaya di kegelapan dan kabut, tetapi sistem peringatan akustik "Crocodile" gagal karena kontaknya membeku.
