Perlakuan mendiamkan

Pendiaman adalah penolakan untuk berkomunikasi secara verbal dan elektronik dengan seseorang yang ingin berkomunikasi. Perlakuan ini mungkin hanya bersifat merajuk, namun bisa saja merupakan bagian dari perilaku manipulatif yang menyakitkan. Pendiaman juga dapat dianggap sebagai bentuk pelecehan emosional pasif-agresif di mana ketidaksenangan, ketidaksetujuan, dan penghinaan ditunjukkan melalui gerakan nonverbal sambil mempertahankan keheningan verbal. Psikolog klinis Harriet Braiker mengidentifikasi pendiaman sebagai salah satu bentuk hukuman manipulatif. Perilaku ini dapat digunakan sebagai bentuk penolakan sosial, menurut psikolog sosial Kipling Williams tindakan ini adalah bentuk pengucilan yang paling umum.
