Doug Mitchell (lahir 1952) adalah produser film Britania Raya.
Karier
[sunting | sunting sumber]Karier Mitchell sebagai produser berawal pada pertengahan 1980-an sebagai anggota rumah produksi Kennedy Miller di Sydney, Australia. Pada akhir 1980-an, ia bersama George Miller dan Terry Hayes mendapat nominasi kategori AACTA Award for Best Film pada penganugerahan Australian Film Institute Awards.[1][2][3] Mereka memenangi kategori Best Film untuk film The Year My Voice Broke pada tahun 1987, mendapat nominasi untuk Dead Calm tahun 1989, dan memenangi kategori Best Film untuk Flirting tahun 1990.[1][2][3]
Pada tahun 1996, Mitchell mendapat nominasi Academy Award bersama George Miller dan adiknya, Bill Miller kategori Academy Award for Best Picture untuk film Babe.[4] Film ini mendapat tujuh nominasi Academy Awards dan memenangi kategori Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.[4] Ketiganya dianugerahi Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy dan nominasi BAFTA Award for Best Film dan Producers Guild of America Award for Best Theatrical Motion Picture pada tahun 1996.[5][6]
Tahun 2006, ia bersama George Miller dan Bill Miller memproduseri film animasi komputer Happy Feet. Untuk film tersebut, mereka dianugerahi Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film, dan nominasi Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film tahun 2006. Ketiganya juga mendapat nominasi kategori Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures untuk Happy Feet di Producers Guild of America Awards 2006.[7]
