At the division of the land between the seven tribes not yet provided for, the lot of Zabulon was third. The tribe's territory started with Sarid ([[Book of Joshua|Joshua]] 19:10), which is supposed to have been [[Tel Shadud]], some five miles southwest of [[Nazareth]]. Zabulon's boundaries have not been made out. Of the nineteen proper names that the book of Joshua gives to guide us, only [[Bethlehem, Galilee|Bethlehem]] (''Beit lahm'', seven miles northwest of Nazareth) can be identified with certainty. Zabulon (juga Zebulun, bahasa Ibrani: זְבֻלוּן, Z’vulun) adalah salah seorang dari ke-12 anak Yakub, dan leluhur dari suku dengan nama yang sama (Kejadian 46:14, Bilangan 26:26)
Tak ada yang diketahui tentang Zebulon kecuali bahwa Sered, Elon, dan Yahle'el adalah anak-anaknya dan bahwa ia merupakan peimpin dari tiga keluarag kesukuan.
Suku Zebulon memainkan peranan penting dalam sejarah awal Israel. Nama ini ditulis dalam bahasa Ibrani dan muncul dalam beberapa versi: 18 kali dalam bentuk Zebúlûn; 26 kali dalam bentuk Zebûlún; sekali dalam bentuk Zebûlûn. Versi Septuaginta menulisnya Zaboulon; Yosefus dalam (Antiquities V.7.14) menulisnya Zaboules; dan Vulgata: Zabulon.
