Mayor-Jenderal Charles George Gordon, CB (28 Januari 1833 – 26 Januari 1885), juga dikenal sebagai Chinese Gordon, Gordon Pasha, dan Gordon dari Khartoum, adalah seorang perwira angkatan darat dan administrator Britania.

Ia beraksi dalam Perang Krimea sebagai seorang perwira dalam Angkatan Darat Britania. Untuk pelayanan ini, ia dilantik menjadi Chevalier Legiun Kehormatan oleh Pemerintahn Perancis pada 16 Juli 1856. Namun, ia membuat reputasi militernya di China, dimana ia ditempatkan dalam komando "Ever Victorious Army," sebuah pasukan prajurit Tiongkok yang dipimpin oleh perwira Eropa.

Kehidupan awal

Gordon lahir di Woolwich, London, sebagai putra dari Mayor-Jenderal Henry William Gordon (1786–1865) dan Elizabeth (Enderby) Gordon (1792–1873). Ia dididik di Sekolah Fullands di Taunton, Somerset, Sekolah Taunton, dan Akademi Militer Kerajaan, Woolwich. Ia diangkat pada 1852 sebagai letnan kedua dalam Teknisi Kerajaan, menyelesaikan pelatihannya di Chatham. Ia diangkat menjadi letnan penuh pada 1854.
