Louis Moore Bacon (lahir 1956) adalah seorang manajer [[dan trader komoditas yang menggunakan strategi makro global untuk berinvestasi di pasar. Saat ini ia diakui sebagai salah satu trader terbaik pada abad ke-20. Dengan kekayaan total sekitar $1,7 miliar dan menempati peringkat ke-707 orang terkaya di dunia versi Forbes.[1] Ia lahir di Raleigh, North Carolina. Bacon mengenyam pendidikan di Episcopal High School di Alexandria, Virginia dan di Middleburry College, yang berhasil diselesaikannya dengan peringkat Cum laude. Ia mendapatkan gelar MBA-nya dari Colombia University.[2]
Bacon memulai kariernya dengan menjadi trader dan broker untuk Shearson Lehman Brothers di New York. Pada tahun 1986 ia mendirikan Moore Capital Management, salah satu perintis industri hedge fund. Bacon menikah dengan Cynthia Pigott[2] namun bercerai beberapa tahun kemudian. Ia kemudian menikah lagi dengan Gabrielle Sacconaghi.
Bacon memiliki banyak rumah di seluruh dunia. Termasuk di antaranya rumah di The Boltons, Colorado dan the Bahamas, sebuah perumahan mewah di Upper East Side (termasuk di dalamnya sebuah daerah perburuan di dekat Robins Island, semuanya dimiliki oleh Bacon), satu rumah di Skotlandia, dan tiga area polo pribadi.[3]
Pada bulan November 2007, Bacon membeli ranch terbesar di Colorado, Trinchera Ranch, dari keluarga Forbes. Properti seluas 171.400-ekar (694 km2) itu ia beli dengan harga $175 juta, sebuah harga yang fantastis untuk ukuran AS.[4]
