Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse adalah album studio ke-14 oleh penyanyi dan penulis lagu asal Amerika Serikat, Mariah Carey. Album ini dirilis pada tanggal 23 Mei 2014. Rekamannya telah dikembangkan sejak tahun 2011 yang lalu. Sebelumnya, album ini berjudul The Art of Letting Go yang dijadwalkan akan dirilis pada tahun 2012 saat setelah singel "Triumphant (Get 'Em)" dirilis. Album ini pun sempat dijadwalkan akan dirilis pada tahun 2013 tetapi kembali diundur di tahun 2014.

Judul album

Pada Juni 2013, terdapat kabar bahwa Mariah Carey masih memilih diantara dua judul untuk album barunya.[1] Pada tanggal 16 Juni 2013, Walmart membuat pre-order untuk album terbaru dari Mariah Carey dan mengungkapkan bahwa judulnya adalah The Art of Letting Go.[2] Pada Februari 2014, Mariah Carey memutuskan untuk memilih judul yang baru untuk albumnya setelah mengetahui bahwa judul untuk albumnya telah bocor.[3] Kemudian, judul untuk album barunya adalah Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, terdapat dua bagian dari judul album yang berasal dari dua hal bersifat pribadi untuk Mariah Carey. Bagian pertama keterangan dari "potret diri pertama dan satu-satunya" Mariah Carey yang dibuat pada masa kecilnya dan ditampilkan pada sampul belakang album, sedangkan bagian kedua adalah nama panggilan barunya.[4] Sebagai ringkasan dari konsep judul dan albumnya, Mariah Carey mengatakan, "Album ini adalah refleksi dari puncak dan lembah yang membuatku menjadi seperti sekarang. Perilisan

Pada Februari 2013, Mariah Carey menyatakan bahwa dia ingin albumnya dirilis secepat mungkin.[9][10] Namun, perilisan album ditunda hingga bulan Mei 2013,[11] kemudian diundur kembali ke tanggal 23 Juni 2013.[12] Tetapi perilisan albumnya ditunda kembali. Pada tanggal 11 Februari 2014, diumumkan bahwa albumnya siap dirilis pada tanggal 6 Mei 2014.[13] Kemudian dirilis pada tanggal 23 Mei 2014 di Australia dan Jerman, dan menyusul pada tanggal 27 Mei 2014 di Amerika Serikat.[14]
