Kereta api Argo Sindoro (Hanacaraka: ꦱꦼꦥꦸꦂ​ꦲꦂꦒ​ꦱꦶꦤ꧀ꦢꦫ, Sepur Harga Sindara) adalah kereta api kelas eksekutif argo yang dioperasikan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) di Pulau Jawa dengan jurusan Semarang Tawang - Gambir dan sebaliknya. Sebelumnya, kereta ini adalah kereta api Argo Muria I serta perjalanannya berkebalikan dengan Argo Muria saat ini.

Dalam perjalanannya kereta api ini hanya berhenti di Stasiun Pekalongan, Tegal, Cirebon, dan Jatinegara (arah Jakarta).

Asal usul nama

Nama Argo Sindoro menggunakan nama Gunung Sindoro yang berada di perbatasan Kabupaten Wonosobo dan Kabupaten Temanggung, Jawa Tengah. Pemakaian nama ini karena argo [baca: harga (Jawa)] itu sendiri berarti gunung. Walaupun dahulu brand name atau penamaan argo menandakan fasilitas dan ketepatan waktu yang lebih dari kelas kereta api yang lain, yakni eksekutif, bisnis, maupun ekonomi, sekarang layanan ini tidaklah jauh berbeda dengan kereta api kelas eksekutif pada umumnya.

Sejarah

Pengoperasian awal (2001-2010)

Pada awalnya, kereta api Argo Sindoro merupakan salah satu dari dua kereta api Argo Muria yang melayani rute Gambir - Semarang Tawang PP sejak tahun 1997 untuk Argo Muria 1 dan 2001 untuk Argo Muria 2. Saat itu, kereta api Argo Muria menggunakan rangkaian kereta yang sama dengan KA Argo Bromo Anggrek, yaitu rangkaian berbogie K9. Namun sejak tahun 2002, bersamaan dengan Argo Gede dan Harina, kedua rangkaian Argo Muria ini diganti dengan kereta eksekutif baru dari INKA buatan tahun 2002 dan merupakan kereta eksekutif argo biasa.

Sejak kereta api Argo Muria 1 dan 2 menggunakan kereta eksekutif Argo biasa, maka rangkaian KA Argo Bromo Anggrek mulai digunakan oleh kereta api Argo Lawu sejak tahun 2004. Meskipun demikian, ternyata kereta berbogie K9 ini sering anjlok saat dioperasikan di jalur selatan sebagai kereta api Argo Lawu, sehingga pada tahun 2007 kereta berbogie K9 tersebut dikembalikan kepada Argo Muria 1 dan namanya diubah menjadi Argo Sindoro untuk membedakan dengan kereta Argo Muria 2 yang masih menggunakan kereta eksekutif buatan tahun 2002. Sebagai gantinya, kereta eksekutif keluaran 2002 milik Argo Muria 1 dihibahkan kepada Dipo Kereta Solo Balapan (SLO) untuk digunakan sebagai kereta api Argo Lawu dan Dwipangga.

Sejak Desember 2011 lalu, kereta api Argo Sindoro akhirnya tidak lagi menggunakan kereta Anggrek K9 karena semua kereta berbogie K9yang sering mengalami masalah ditarik untuk diperbaiki di PT Inka Madiun, dan saat selesai diperbaiki sebagai kereta "Go Green", seluruh kereta berbogie K9 hanya dialokasikan untuk kereta api Argo Bromo Anggrek saja.

Pengoperasian saat ini (2011-sekarang)

Setelah tidak lagi menggunakan rangkaian kereta berbogie K9, KA Argo Sindoro menggunakan kereta eksekutif keluaran tahun 2002 yang dialokasikan di dipo kereta Semarang Poncol yang juga digunakan sebagai cadangan rangkaian KA Argo Muria dan Harina. Rangkaian yang digunakan adalah kereta eksekutif produksi 2002 milik Argo Muria (K1-028xx) dan eks-Harina (K1-025xx). Sekarang semua rangkaian tersebut berkode K1 0 02 xx sejak era penomoran baru.

Pada bulan Juni 2015, kereta api Argo Sindoro kembali menggunakan rangkaian kereta eksekutif dengan bogie K9 bekas Argo Bromo Anggrek Go Green (maupun kereta yang sudah menggunakan livery "Kesepakatan" setelah menjalani pemeliharaan akhir di Balai Yasa Gubeng) karena kereta api tersebut telah mendapatkan rangkaian yang direhabilitasi total di PT Inka, Madiun. Namun akhirnya kereta berbogie K9 ini pun mulai dikembalikan kepada pemiliknya, ke Daerah Operasi VIII Surabaya karena saat ini seringkali kereta Kereta api Argo Bromo Anggrek membawa 8-10 kereta berbogie K9 dalam satu rangkaiannya. Meskipun begitu, pada musim lebaran dan akhir tahun, kereta berbogie K9 ini bisa saja digunakan oleh Kereta api Argo Muria maupun Argo Sindoro Tambahan.

Saat kereta api Argo Muria sudah mendapatkan kereta terbaru pada tahun 2017, kereta api Argo Sindoro ini menggunakan kereta eksekutif produksi tahun 2002 bekas Kereta api Argo Muria produksi PT Inka. Adapun rangkaian kereta api Argo Sindoro tersebut terdiri atas sebuah lokomotif (Lokomotif CC201, Lokomotif CC203, Lokomotif CC206), delapan kereta eksekutif argo (K1 0 02 XX SMC), satu kereta makan (M1 0 02 XX SMC), kereta pembangkit (P 0 02 XX SMC), Kereta ini terkadang menggunakan pembangkit tipe lamanya (P 0 80/82 XX SMC). Terkadang satu atau dua kereta eksekutif buatan tahun 2017 ini tersambung dalam rangkaian kereta api Argo Sindoro.

Pada 24 Oktober 2018, Kereta api Argo Sindoro menggunakan kereta eksekutif berbodi stainless steel keluaran tahun 2018 produksi PT INKA Madiun.

Tarif

Tarif kereta api ini adalah Rp160.000,00 - Rp700.000,00, bergantung pada jarak yang ditempuh penumpang, subkelas/posisi tempat duduk dalam rangkaian kereta, serta hari-hari tertentu seperti akhir pekan dan libur nasional. Selain itu, berlaku pula tarif khusus yang hanya dapat dipesan mulai dua jam sebelum keberangkatan pada stasiun-stasiun yang berada dalam rute berikut.
