Elizabeth Anne "Lizzy" Caplan (lahir 30 Juni 1982) adalah seorang aktris Amerika. Dia dikenal karena perannya dalam film seperti Mean Girls (2004), Cloverfield (2008), Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), The Interview (2014), Bachelorette (2012), dan Now You See Me 2 (2016). Perannya dalam televisi yang paling penting termasuk Marjee Sorelli di Related, Kat Warbler di The Class , Amy Burley di True Blood , Casey Klein di Party Down , dan Virginia Johnson di Master of Sex .
Kehidupan awal
Caplan lahir dan dibesarkan dalam sebuah keluarga imigran di Los Angeles, California. Ayahnya adalah seorang pengacara dan ibunya adalah politikus.[1] Ibunya meninggal ketika dia berusia 13 tahun.[2][3] Pamannya adalah wartawan yaitu Howard Bragman.[4] Caplan menempuh pendidikan di SMA Alexander Hamilton,[5] dan adalah seorang mahasiswa di Akademi sekolah Musik. Dia awalnya difokuskan untuk bermain piano, kemudian memutuskan untuk mengikuti drama.[6] Dia lulus pada tahun 2000.
Karier
Caplan memulai karier aktingnya pada tahun 1999, memainkan peran kecil di serial Freaks dan Geeks [7] Dia kemudian memiliki serangkaian penampilan tamu di berbagai acara, dan muncul di video klip Jason Mraz "You and I Both ". Pada tahun 2001, ia memainkan Tina Greer dalam sebuah episode dari Smallville , dan perannya di acara pada tahun 2003. Dia muncul dalam dua episode dari ABC seri Once and Again . Pada tahun 2003, ia membintangi serial televisi The Pitts , bermain sebagai Faith Pitt. Dia mendapat pemberitahuan lebih luas untuk bermain Janis Ian dalam film 2004 Mean Girls . Dia memainkan Avery Bishop di musim kedua Tru Calling .
