Nizhny Novgorod (bahasa Rusia: Ни́жний Но́вгород) adalah kota terbesar ke-4 di Russia setelah Moskow, Saint Petersburg, dan Novosibirsk. Kota ini merupakan pusat ekonomi dan budaya dari wilayah ekonomi Volga-Vyatka yang luas, dan juga pusat administrasi dari Oblast Nizhny Novgorod dan Distrik Federal Volga.
Dari 1932 sampai 1990 kota ini dikenal sebagai Gorky (Го́рький) dari nama penulis Maxim Gorky. Setelah jatuhnya Uni Soviet, kota ini diganti namanya.
