Glutamin sintetase (GS) (EC 6.3.1.2)[3] adalah enzim yang memainkan peran penting dalam metabolisme nitrogen dengan mengkatalisis kondensasi glutamat dan amonia untuk membentuk glutamin:
Glutamat + ATP + NH3 → Glutamin + ADP + fosfat
