Gruiformes adalah ordo yang berisi sejumlah besar keluarga punah dan hidup burung, dengan keragaman geografis luas. Gruiformes berarti "seperti-burung jenjang".
Secara tradisional, sejumlah rendam dan burung terestrial keluarga yang tampaknya tidak tergabung dalam ordo lain diklasifikasikan bersama sebagai Gruiformes. Ini termasuk 14 spesies burung jenjang besar, sekitar 145 spesies Rallidae, serta berbagai keluarga yang terdiri dari 1-3 spesies, seperti Heliornithidae, limpkin, atau terompet. Burung lain telah ditempatkan dalam urutan ini lebih dari kebutuhan untuk menempatkan mereka di suatu tempat; ini telah menyebabkan Gruiformes diperluas kurang apomorphies khas. Studi terbaru menunjukkan bahwa ini "Gruiformes aneh" yang jika di semua hanya longgar terkait dengan burung jenjang, Rallidae, dan kerabat ("Gruiformes inti").
