Nizar Tawfiq Qabbani (bahasa Arab: نزار توفيق قباني, Nizār Tawfīq Qabbānī) (21 Maret 1923 – 30 April 1998) adalah seorang diplomat, penyair dan penerbit Suriah.
Biografi
Kehidupan awal
Nizar Qabbani lahir di ibu kota Suriah Damaskus dari keluarga pedagang kelas menengah.[1] Qabbani dibesarkan di Mi'thnah Al-Shahm, salah satu tetangga Damaskus lama. Qabbani menempuh pendidikan di Scientific College School nasional di Damaskus antara 1930 dan 1941.[2] Sekolah tersebut dimiliki dan dijalankan oleh teman ayahnya, Ahmad Munif al-Aidi. Ia kemudian mempelajari hukum di Universitas Damaskus, yang disebut Universitas Suriah sampai 1958. Ia lulus dengan gelar sarjana dalam hukum pada 1945.[2]
Ketika ia masih pelajar, ia menulis kumpulan puisi buatannya yang berjudul The Brunette Told Me.
