Pada tahun 2008, The Koxx berkumpul dan memainkan pertunjukan untuk pesta akhir tahun bersama teman-teman. Pada tahun 2008, The Koxx berkumpul dan memainkan pertunjukan untuk pesta akhir tahun bersama teman-teman. Setelah itu mereka membentuk band mulai tahun 2009 dan memulai debutnya di reality show Hello Rookie.[3] Mereka merilis EP pertama mereka, Enter, pada 15 Juni 2010. Pada 15 Juni 2011, The Koxx merilis album studio pertama mereka, Access OK. Di penghujung tahun, The Koxx menggelar konser solo pertama mereka, Success OK,[4] dan melakukan tur di Jepang, bermain di klub-klub di Tokyo, Osaka, dan Nagoya.

The Koxx memenangkan "Discovery of the Year" Award pada 22 Februari 2012 di Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.[5] Mulai tahun 2012, band ini mulai muncul di reality show KBS Top Band 2.[4] Pada tanggal 26 Juni 2012 mereka merilis EP kedua mereka, Bon Voyage. Koxx mulai hiatus pada tahun 2013 ketika banyak anggota memulai dinas militer mereka.[6]

Pada tahun 2015, The Koxx mengumumkan bahwa mereka akan tampil di Fuji Rock Festival dan mereka sedang bekerja untuk merilis album baru di tahun yang sama.[7]
