Cetak albumen, juga disebut cetak perak albumen, ditemukan pada 1850 oleh Louis Désiré Blanquart-Evrard, dan merupakan metode menghasilkan cetakan fotografi di atas kertas dari sebuah foto negatif yang diperdagangkan secara komersial.[1] Pada pertengahan abad ke-19, carte de visite menjadi salah satu metode albumen yang digunakan yang paling populer. Pada abad ke-19, E. & H. T. Anthony & Company menjadi pasar dan distributor cetak foto albumen terbesar di Amerika Serikat.[2]
