Hypocreales adalah salah satu ordo fungi dalam kelas Sordariomycetes. Pada tahun 2008 diperkirakan terdapat sekitar 237 genus dan 2.647 spesies dalam tujuh famili anggotanya.[1] Sejak itu sejumlah taksa lebih lanjut telah diidentifikasi, termasuk famili tambahan yakni Stachybotryaceae.[2] Pada tahun 2020, Wijayawardene dkk menambahkan lebih banyak famili dan genus ke dalam ordo ini.[3] Menurut Catalogue of Life, Pada April 2021 ordo ini terdiri dari 6 famili, 137 genus, dan 1411 spesies.[4] Hyde dkk (2020) mendaftarkan 14 famili dalam ordo ini, sedangkan Wijayawardene dkk (2022) menerima 15 famili dalam ordo ini[5] di mana Cylindriaceae juga ditambahkan. Sebelumnya Hyde dkk (2020) telah menempatkan Cylindriaceae dalam subkelas Xylariomycetidae.[6] Samarakoon dkk (2022) menyetujuinya.[7] Oleh karena itu Cylindriaceae seharusnya dikeluarkan dari ordo ini dan dipindahkan ke Xylariomycetidae. Xiao dkk (2022) baru-baru ini memperkenalkan keluarga baru yakni Polycephalomycetaceae ke dalam ordo ini.[8]

Deskripsi

Anggota Hypocreales biasanya dikenali dari warnanya yang cerah, askokarpus perithecial, atau struktur penghasil spora. Warnanya sering berwarna kuning, jingga atau merah.
