Mezzo-sopran adalah suara wanita yang lebih rendah dari sopran namun lebih tinggi dari kontralto. Secara umum suara mezzo-sopran masuk diantara nada A₃ (di bawah C natural) sampai A₅. Namun ada juga suara mezzo-soprano yang jangkauannya cukup ekstrim dari (G₃) sampai (C₆).^[1]

Mezzo-sopran koloratur

Suara Mezzo-sopran koloratur memiliki rentang suara dari nada G₃ sampai B₅ bahkan ada yang bisa sampai C₆ atu D₆, namun sangat jarang.^[1] Yang membedakan dengan suara sopran adalah suara mezzo-sopran koloratur lebih berat dan penyanyi dengan suara ini akan lebih nyaman menyanyikan nada rendah dari pada nada tinggi.^[2]
