Kereta api Argo Wilis adalah kereta api kelas Eksekutif Argo yang dioperasikan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) di Pulau Jawa dengan jurusan Bandung (BD) - Surabaya Gubeng (SGU) dan sebaliknya.

Operasional dan fasilitas

Kereta api Argo Wilis dioperasikan pertama kalinya pada tanggal 8 November 1998. Perjalanan sejauh 699 km ditempuh dalam waktu kurang lebih 10 jam dan selama dalam perjalanan hanya berhenti di Stasiun Cipeundeuy, Tasikmalaya, Banjar, Kroya, Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta, Solo Balapan, Madiun, Kertosono dan Jombang.

Kereta api Argo Wilis merupakan satu-satunya kereta api kelas Eksekutif Argo yang melayani di jalur di luar Jakarta (BD-SGU dan sebaliknya). Kereta api Argo Wilis beroperasi di siang hari, dan untuk perjalanan saat malam hari dilayani Kereta Api Ekspres Malam Turangga, yaitu salah satu kereta api kelas Eksekutif Satwa dengan rangkaian (seperti) pesawat yang beroperasi di luar jalur Jakarta.

Kata Argo digunakan sebagai brand image layanan kereta api eksekutif unggulan. Kata Wilis diambil dari nama Gunung Wilis yang memiliki ketinggian 2.169 m dari permukaan laut dan merupakan tataran pegunungan yang panjang dengan puncak tertingginya berada di kawasan Bajulan Nganjuk, Jawa Timur.

Rangkaian KA Argo Wilis terdiri dari 4-6 kereta penumpang kelas Eksekutif Argo (K1), 1 kereta makan kelas 1 (M1), dan 1 kereta pembangkit listrik (P). Dengan jumlah kereta yang dibawa, dalam satu kali perjalanan Argo Wilis bisa mengangkut hingga 200 sampai 300 penumpang.

KA Argo Wilis sering memakai kereta buatan tahun 1998 (K1 0 98 xx), meskipun terkadang bertukar dengan kereta buatan tahun 1995/2002 (K1 0 95 xx)/(K1 0 02 xx) milik Argo Parahyangan. KA ini juga merupakan KA yang masih sering ditarik CC203.

Bandung-Bali

Selama ini Argo Wilis sering dipakai sebagai moda transportasi penghubung dari Bandung ke obyek wisata yang ada di Pulau Bali dan sebaliknya. Setiba di Surabaya biasanya penumpang transit di VIP Room Stasiun Surabaya Gubeng untuk kemudian meneruskan perjalalan ke Banyuwangi dengan KA Kereta api Mutiara Timur Malam dan sampai di Banyuwangi pada pagi hari. Kemudian perjalanan dilanjutkan dengan bus PT Kereta Api (Persero) menuju Denpasar, Bali. Demikian juga sebaliknya, berangkat dari Banyuwangi dengan menggunakan KA Mutiara Timur Malam untuk sampai di Surabaya Gubeng, kemudian transit di VIP Room Stasiun Surabaya Gubeng dan meneruskan perjalanan menuju Jombang, Kertosono, Madiun, Solo Balapan, Yogyakarta, Kutoarjo, Kroya, Banjar, Tasikmalaya maupun Bandung dengan menggunakan KA Argo Wilis.
