Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint [1] (lahir 24 Agustus 1988) adalah seorang aktor berkebangsaan Inggris yang dikenal karena perannya sebagai Ron Weasley dalam film-film Harry Potter.
Biografi
Kehidupan awal
Grint dilahirkan di Hertfordshire, Britania Raya, merupakan sulung dari lima bersaudara. Ayahnya, Nigel Grint, adalah seorang pedagang memorabilia, dan ibunya, Jo (Parsons) adalah seorang ibu rumah tangga. [2] Ia mempunyai seorang adik laki-laki, James, dan tiga adik perempuan: Georgina, Samantha, and Charlotte. Sebelum memperoleh perannya dalam film Harry Potter, dia hanya tampil untuk berperan dalam pertunjukan sekolah dan kelompok teater lokal, Top Hat Stage School. Ketika kecil, dia pernah berperan sebagai seorang ikan dalam pertunjukan yang berdasarkan pada kisah Bahtera Nuh.[3]
Karier
Mengaku sebagai seorang penggemar dari seri buku Harry Potter, Grint muda tertarik untuk mendapatkan peran dalam seri film. Untuk audisi, dia mengirim video buatannya sendiri, yang di dalamnya ia berpakaian seperti guru dramanya, sambil memberikan alasan tentang keinginannya yang sangat besar untuk mendapat peran dan memenangkan casting tersebut. Setelah menyelesaikan film perdana Potter, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (dirilis di Amerika Serikat sebagai Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), dia berperan dalam film komedi Inggris, Thunderpants sebagai Alan A. Allen (2002). Pada tahun 2002, 2004, 2005, dan 2007, dia kembali berperan sebagai Ron Weasley dalam sekuel Potter, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire dan Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Grint juga berperan dalam kisah remaja Driving Lessons bersama Laura Linney dan Julie Walters (yang memerankan Mrs. Weasley dalam sebagian besar film Harry Potter), yang telah dirilis pada musim panas 2006.

Kehidupan pribadi
Pada Juli 2004, Grint lulus dari Richard Hale School, dan mengambil pelatihan GCSE di antaranya dalam bidang seni dan bahasa Jerman. Ketika sedang tidak bekerja, dia suka untuk belajar mengendarai unicycle, menggambar, dan bermain golf. Seperti Ron Weasley, dia juga mengaku bahwa ia takut terhadap laba-laba.
Dengan penghasilannya dari serial "Harry Potter", Grint membeli sebuah van es krim, dan menyatakan sambil bercanda bahwa jika kariernya jatuh setelah seri ketujuh berakhir, paling tidak ia masih memiliki van tersebut.[7]
