Choi Soon-sil (lahir 23 Juni 1956) adalah putri dari pemimpin pemujaan kultus Shamanistik, Choi Tae-min.[1] Dia merupakan orang yang menarik perhatian utama dalam skandal politik Korea Selatan 2016 yang melibatkan pengaruhnya terhadap Presiden Korea Selatan ke-18 Park Geun-hye.[2][3][4][5][6]

Skandal ini melibatkan tuduhan bahwa ia bertanggung jawab karena mendalangi kebijakan pemerintah dan pengambilan keputusan selama pemerintahan Park.[7][8][9][10][11][12]Jaksa telah menggerek kantor dan rumah yang memiliki hubungan dengan Choi.[13][14] Sekretaris Presiden Park telah diperintahkan untuk mengundurkan diri setelah skandal ini.[15] Dia mungkin telah memerintahkan jaksa Korea untuk mendakwa seorang jurnalis Jepang, Tatsuya Kato (Kepala Biro Seoul Korea Selatan di Sankei Shimbun), untuk pencemaran nama baik atas berita bahwa Presiden Park dan mantan kepala stafnya, Chung Yoon-hoi, telah mengadakan pertemuan rahasia tujuh jam dengan Choi setelah tenggelamnya MV Sewol.[16]
Pastor Kristen palsu[17] Choi Tae-min adalah ayahnya dan atlet berkuda Chung Yoo-ra adalah putri dari mantan suaminya.[18][19]
