Kereta api Siliwangi adalah kereta api berstatus KA Perintis Lokal (kelas ekonomi ac) Jarak Menengah milik PT Kereta Api Indonesia dengan relasi Stasiun Sukabumi - Stasiun Cianjur . Kereta api Siliwangi diresmikan oleh Gubernur Jawa Barat Ahmad Heryawan pada tanggal 19 Februari 2016.

Stamformasi

Terhitung mulai tanggal 1 Januari 2016, layanan kelas eksekutif pada KA Pangrango /Siliwangi dihapus, jadi KA Pangrango/Siliwangi hanya membawa kereta ekonomi saja.^[1] Namun atas desakan dari para penumpang rute Bogor-Sukabumi dan sebaliknya, maka PT KAI Daerah Operasi I Jakarta memutuskan kembali menyediakan layanan kelas Eksekutif pada perjalanan Ka Pangrango mulai keberangkatan tanggal 21 Januari 2016.^[2]

Awal Resmi KA Siliwangi

Menteri Perhubungan Ignasius Jonan, didampingi Gubernur Jawa Barat Ahmad Heryawan, meresmikan pengoperasian Kereta Api (KA) Siliwangi sebagai Angkutan Perintis pada relasi Cianjur-Sukabumi, 19 Februari 2016 di Stasiun Cianjur, Jawa Barat. Kementerian Perhubungan menunjuk PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) sebagai operator pengoperasiannya. Penunjukan PT KAI oleh Menhub RI ini, untuk 8 (delapan) bulan terhitung sejak 1 Januari hingga 31 Agustus 2016 dengan nilai kontrak sebesar Rp 9.5 miliar.

Untuk menikmati layanan transportasi dengan jarak tempuh sepanjang ± 38,6 Km dengan KA Siliwangi ini, masyarakat hanya perlu mengeluarkan biaya tarif sebesar Rp 3.000,- . KA ini memiliki empat kereta penumpang dan satu kereta makan yang kesemuanya dilengkapi dengan pendingin udara. KA Perintis Siliwangi mampu mengangkut sebanyak 472 penumpang untuk sekali perjalanan. KA Siliwangi akan melayani perjalanan Cianjur-Sukabumi sebanyak tiga kali sehari. Kereta Api ini akan melewati sejumlah stasiun, antara lain Stasiun Cianjur, Stasiun Cilaku, Stasiun Cibeber, Stasiun Lampegan, Stasiun Cireungas dan Stasiun Gandasoli.

Gubernur Jawa Barat Ahmad Heryawan dalam siaran persnya, menyampaikan terima kasih kepada Menhub dan Ditjen Perkereta Apian, atas hadirnya layanan transportasi rakyat ini. Ini sangat membantu meningkatkan aksesibilitas masyarakat wilayah Cianjur dan Sukabumi. Dengan aksesibilitas yang tinggi, perpindahan orang dan barang menjadi praktis, selain membantu meningkatkan perekonomian daerah sekitar.

Atas nama Pemerintah Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat, dan masyarakat Cianjur, masyarakat Sukabumi khususnya, mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Menteri Perhubungan, Ditjen Perkereta Apian, serta seluruh jajarannya atas aktivasi kereta api rakyat. Karena tentu peresmian ini sangat bermanfaat, pada saat banyak mobil, ketika situasi jalan raya padat, kita menyadari penting juga kereta api.

Dalam rangka peningkatan prasarana KA perintis Cianjur-Sukabumi tersebut, Kementerian Perhubungan telah melakukan sejumlah pekerjaan, diantaranya penggantian rel bantalan kayu menjadi bantalan besi antara Stasiun Lampegan-Stasiun Cibeber sepanjang ± 21,6 KM, perbaikan jalan KA yang longsor antara Stasiun Lampegan-Stasiun Cibeber, manteling dinding terowongan, peningkatan persinyalan, penanganan longsor dengan Retaining Wall Beton, dan penanggulangan badan jalan KA yang longsor akibat erosi aliran sungai.

Gubernur berharap, adanya alat transportasi rakyat ini dapat menjadi solusi mengurangi beban lalu lintas di jalanan. Dia pun berharap KA Perintis Siliwangi Cianjur-Sukabumi ini dapat menjadi alat transportasi yang aman, nyaman, dan memiliki pelayanan yang baik. "Tidak ada bangsa yang maju kecuali memperhatikan transportasi kereta api-nya. Kereta api-lah harapan masa depan transportasi bangsa. Tanpa macet, dan tanpa kecelakaan mudah mudahan. Karena dari namanya saja sudah Siliwangi. Siliwangi sendiri punya karakter khusus yang baik, maka jangan malu-maluin nama Siliwangi," ujarnya.

Sementara itu, Menteri Perhubungan Ignasius Jonan menyatakan pihaknya selanjutnya juga akan meneruskan aktivasi kereta perintis dengan rute Cianjur-Sukabumi-Padalarang-Bandung. Ia pun menargetkan KA tersebut untuk bisa beroperasi tahun depan. "Saya sudah cerita dengan Pak Gubernur, ke depannya akan ada rute Sukabumi-Cianjur-Padalarang-Bandung. Ini penting. kalau nanti bisa selesai tahun depan. Lokomotifnya CC 206, biar kuat menempuh rute itu. Mudah-mudahan frekuensinya kalau bisa sehari 4 kali lah. Kalau bisa, jadi transportasi yang bisa diandalkan sebagai program peningkatan konektivitas.
