TF-X adalah jet tempur superioritas udara segala cuaca [6] bermesin ganda [7] yang dikembangkan oleh Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) bekerjasama dengan BAE Systems.[8][9]. TF-X direncanakan menggantikan F-16 Fighting Falcons milik Turkish Air Force dan di ekspor keluar Turki.[10] Kementrian pertahanan Turki mengatakan TF-X akan terbang perdana pada 2023,[11] tapi kemudisn ditunda sampai 2025.[12] Pada 26 Maret 2020 Temel Kotil, CEO dari Turkish Aerospace, mengumumkan TF-X akan diluncurkan perdana pada 18.03. 2023 dengan mesin dua buah GE F110.[13]
Sejarah
Pada tanggal 15 Desember 2010, Turkey's Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSIK) memutuskan untuk merancang, mengembangkan, dan memproduksi pesawat tempur tempur udara-ke-udara pribumi. Pendanaan setara dengan US$20 juta dialokasikan untuk tahap desain konseptual 2-tahun yang akan dilakukan oleh TAI.
