Gaeul IVE at MAMA 2022 Red Carpet

Gaeul or Kim Gaeul (born September 24, 2002 ) is a rapper and dancer from South Korea. He started his career as a trainee recruited in Starship Entertainment of the Incheon Youth Dance Contest in 2017. Moreover, he joined as a trainee in the same year as the rest of the IVE members.

Even so, he was recruited by JYP Entertainment one year before joining Starship Entertainment.

After being a trainee for about four years, he officially debuted by filling the position of leader rapper and main dancer with the group IVE. This announcement was made by Starship Entertainment on November 4 2021. He also has the best dancing skills among the other members with extraordinary flexibility and agility. Then, on December 1 2021, he officially debuted with IVE by performing a song called Eleven.

Life

Gaeul was born in Bupyeong, Incheon, South Korea on September 24, 2002. She has an older brother who was born in 2000. She attended elementary school at Incheon Buwon Elementary School, a junior high school at Bupyeongso Girls Middle School, and graduated from Bupyeong Girls High School. Gaeul has yet to continue his tertiary education after graduating from high school in 2021 despite having good grades as a student.

Since middle school, Gaeul has shown an interest in dancing especially in the hip-hop genre by joining a dance club at his school. During high school, he had joined the library club while being a trainee. At first, his parents did not approve of Gaeul's decision to become a trainee after being recruited by JYP Entertainment in 2016. Then, his parents gave him a chance when he was recruited by Starship Entertainment after he made it through to the semifinals at the Incheon Youth Dance Competition in 2017. Several sources said that Gaeul was supposed to represent his agency, Starship Ent, on the variety show Produce 48 with An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung in 2018. However, for some reason he didn't join.
