Dream Quest Images, yang kemudian dikenal sebagai The Secret Lab, adalah perusahaan efek visual Amerika yang didirikan pada tahun 1979 oleh Hoyt Yeatman, Scott Squires, penduduk asli Ohio Rocco Gioffre, Fred Iguchi, Tom Hollister, dan Bob Hollister.[1]
Sejarah
[sunting | sunting sumber]Setelah mengerjakan Escape from New York, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, dan One From the Heart,[1] Dream Quest memperluas operasinya dan mendapatkan Oscar efek visual berturut-turut untuk pengerjaan di The Abyss dan Total Recall.[2][3]
Pada tahun 1996, Dream Quest dibeli oleh The Walt Disney Company.[4][5] Sementara Disney mulai mengembangkan Dinosaur, mereka memutuskan untuk menggabungkan Dream Quest ke dalam Walt Disney Feature Animation dan kemudian mengganti namanya menjadi "The Secret Lab" pada tahun 1999.[2][6]
Setelah The Secret Lab membuat visual film animasi Dinosaur tahun 2000, proses penutupan dimulai, dimulai dengan membatalkan film animasi yang sedang dikerjakan studio tersebut dengan Walt Disney Feature Animation, Wildlife.[7] The Secret Lab tutup pada tahun 2001,[2] tetapi hanya tutup setelah artisnya menyelesaikan pekerjaan mereka di Reign of Fire dan Kangaroo Jack.[8][9]
