Pertempuran Verdun adalah pertempuran antara pasukan Jerman dan Perancis di blok Barat selama Perang Dunia I pada tanggal 21 Februari sampai 18 Desember 1916, di daerah perbukitan utara kota Verdun-sur-Meuse di utara-timur Perancis.

Pertempuran Verdun berakhir dengan kemenangan Perancis karena Komando tertinggi Jerman gagal mencapai dua tujuan strategis: (1) Merebut kota Verdun, dan (2) Lebih banyak korban daripada pasukan Perancis. Secara keseluruhan, Pertempuran Verdun mengakibatkan lebih dari seperempat juta orang terbunuh di medan pertempuran dan setidaknya setengah juta terluka.

Pertempuran Verdun merupakan pertempuran terpanjang dan paling dahsyat selama Perang Dunia I. Total penggunanan senjata sekitar 40 juta peluru artileri dari kedua belah pihak selama pertempuran.
